A delicate bumblebee necklace made by moulding silver precious metal clay to craft my own little Welsh honeybee. The ancient Celts considered honeybees bringers of wisdom and revered them for their role in the metaphysical.

Gold Vermeil Pendant:
Material: Gold Vermeil
Chain: Fine 14ct gold filled trace chain 0.6mm - available in 16”, 18” and 20”
Bee width & height: 20mm x 30 mm

Silver Pendant:
Material: Sterling Silver
Chain: Sterling silver trace chain 0.8mm - available in 16”, 18” and 20”
Bee width & height: 20mm x 30 mm

The Welsh bards of old are said to have called Britain the “Isle of Honey” due to the sheer number of wild bees flying to and fro.

In Celtic myth, bees were regarded as having great wisdom and acted as messengers between worlds, able to travel to the Otherworld, bringing back messages from the gods.

It is seen as necessary to treat the bees as members of the family. They should be informed of all family happenings, from births to deaths and events in between, especially weddings.

What is gold vermeil?

Gold vermeil is a thick 3.5 micron layer of 18ct yellow gold coated onto sterling silver. Gold vermeil is superior to regular gold plating as it will last longer than regular plated jewellery.
